Dan O’Neill is an award winning Irish Composer and Orchestrator for Film and TV.
A graduate from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, he holds a Masters degree in Scoring for Film, TV and Video Games. As well as this he attended the Conservatory of Music in Dublin for six years achieving a Masters Degree in Music Composition. He has won awards for his compositions in Irish competitions, and strives to get more scores published each year.
His musical background is very eclectic, ranging from Jazz and Blues to Classical and World Music.
Films that he has scored have been screened at various festivals including, The Cork International Film Festival, The Galway Film Fleadh, The LA Film Festival and The Fingál Film Festival. As well as this he has worked for production companies like RTE, Focus Ireland, Stand By Me, SIPTU, Peter McVerry Trust, Amnesty International and Saint Gobain as well as independant film makers and artists.
He is currently working as a composer and orchestrator on projects ranging from promotional videos to feature film scores. The most recent project being a series for Italian TV called ‘Nouvi Eroi’. Working as part of a creative team, Indóru, the completion of the 30 episode series finished in February 2019. He is also in talks with the production company for a second series and more projects for the RAI 3 channel in Italy.
He has very recently been nominated for a best original score award for his work on the short film ‘Aretha’, directed and written by Dave Thomas.
