Dan O’Neill is an award winning Irish Composer and Orchestrator for Film and TV.
A recent graduate from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, he holds a Masters degree in Scoring for Film, TV and Video Games. As well as this he attended the Conservatory of Music in Dublin for six years achieving a Masters Degree in Music Composition. He recently won 1st prize in both the Choral and String Orchestra categories in the annual Feis Ceoil Composition Competition in Ireland and continues to write concert music regularly.
His musical background is very eclectic, ranging from Jazz and Blues to Classical and World Music.
Films that he has scored have been screened at various festivals including, The Cork International Film Festival, The Galway Film Fleadh, The LA Film Festival and The Fingál Film Festival. As well as this he has worked for companies like SIPTU, Peter McVerry Trust and Saint Gobain as well as independant film makers and artists.
He is currently working as orchestrator on a feature film for a composer in LA. The film, starring Michael Madsen, David Proval, Mischa Barton, Daryl Hannah and Paul Sorvino is due for a theatrical release in early 2017. Another film he has worked on is due to be shown at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival in January. He continues to write and orchestrate from his home studio while searching for new and exciting opportunities.
